Founded in 1595, Château d’Aqueria has 163 acres of vineyards with sandy-clay soil that surround the estate in Tavel. Grapes are hand-harvested then destemmed and chilled. Varieties are blended two by two and undergo a 12-to-24-hour maceration. Once the vibrant color is obtained, the tanks are bled and the marcs are pressed to add to the free-run juice. The juice then undergoes temperature-controlled fermentation for 15 days. This wine sees no malolactic fermentation and no oak contact. The final blend takes place in December before bottling. This results in a flavorful, vibrant, and food-friendly rosé that can be enjoyed year-round and cellared for several years.

Harvest Note
Overall, the harvest was good. A very wet and rainy spring dominated the vineyards until the end of May. The season turned in June when an intense heat wave hit. Then the summer became lovely, warm and pleasant, before a second heatwave in August. This is the first time in history that there were two heatwaves during the summer. The young vines suffered while the old vines resisted. Fortunately, at Château d’Aqueria, our old vines held up well even on our famously sandy soils. The weather changed again in late August with the return of very heavy rainfall that lasted too long. The harvest began with areas that had dried up from the two heatwaves and others which ripened later, still wet from the rainfall. 2025 is the story of a vintage which started badly with lots of hiccups but finished surprisingly well.
Tasting Note
The intense pink color is characteristic of a great Tavel. Aromas of raspberry, wild strawberry, and pomegranate share the glass with peppery notes. The wine is balanced and flavorful, and the finish is long. It is a gastronomic rosé that pairs with every part of the meal from aperitif through dessert.
