The Taita vineyards are located at Montes' El Arcángel de Marchigüe estate, at the western end of the Colchagua Valley and 15 miles from the Pacific Ocean. Like most Chilean soils, those in Marchigüe have granitic origin at various levels of decomposition. Some have high clay content and moderate depth, while others are shallower, with less clay and more silt and rocks. In the blocks dedicated to Taita, glacial influence stands out for its classic angular stones deposited by moving glaciers, as well as stones rounded and smoothed by surface water. The Taita blocks are uniquely dry farmed, developing naturally with fewer bunches of smaller, more concentrated grapes.

Harvest Note
The 2019–2020 season saw a very dry winter, continuing a multi-year trend. Low water availability led to a 15–20% drop in yields, which benefited quality. A frost-free spring allowed for healthy flowering, and summer heat accelerated ripening, finishing the harvest two weeks earlier than the previous year. The low fruit load in TAITA vineyard plots ensured even cluster distribution, good sun exposure, and ventilation. Small berry size contributed to concentrated aromas and flavors, reflecting the character of this Colchagua Valley terroir.
Tasting Note
Deep ruby-red with classic Cabernet notes of blackberries, plums, and cherries in syrup. Hints of dried fig, tobacco, cedar, coffee, and vanilla from French oak. Full-bodied and complex, with soft tannins and a long, flavorful finish.
