Rebellious pays homage to the winemaker’s art of blending, with each varietal thoughtfully chosen for a final, generous, and balanced blend. The fruit is fermented in separate lots, allowing each to be distinctly crafted before aging and blending.
A cool and mild growing season was followed by a late summer heat spell which accelerated ripening and produced a slightly earlier than usual start to harvest. Yields were down slightly but red grape varieties showed excellent color with balanced acidity and well-developed flavors.
Tasting Note
Aromas of cherry preserves, dark chocolate and cola with spicy notes of licorice, cardamom, cracked pepper and sandalwood. The bright and vibrant entry accentuates flavors of Bing cherry, fresh blueberries and allspice that linger into a creamy, rich mid-palate and ends with a luxurious finish.
Food Pairing
Pair with grilled foods, such as saucy baby back ribs, grilled vegetables or a juicy burger with cheddar.
Grapes from North Coast including Sonoma, Mendocino and Lake Counties
Splash of white to soften the tannins and enhance the aromas
Fermented in separate lots
Aged 16 months in French and American oak
Nature is unpredictable, unforgiving… and unapologetic. Everything must fight to survive. But it’s precisely this challenge that inspired the creation of Rebellious, a new red wine blend. Rebellious roots dig deep in their search for water, a struggle that yields the best grapes.
