This is a discrete red Burgundy from an historic terroir facing the hill of Corton. Entirely contained within the larger vineyard called En Caradeux, the Clos de la Croix de Pierre has been a Jadot mainstay for generations. This vineyard is on a moderate slope with orientation to the East / Northeast. Soils are similar to those of nearby Corton although the exposition differs. As a lesser-known wine, and with a complicated name, this offers a strong value proposition and a delightful discovery. Pinot Noir here is managed in the exact same manner as for the more famous appellations.

Harvest Note
2023 was a hot and dry growing season which was saved by significant rain in June. This allowed the vines to withstand summer heat and drought and led to ideal sanitary conditions and a modest yield yet concentrated vintage.
Tasting Note
This is a medium-weight dry red wine with intense floral and red berry perfume. The supple fruit is framed by firm acidity, and the tannins are present yet charming and never aggressive. This wine shows impressive persistence with evolving earth and floral notes on the finish.
