This important 1.2 acre parcel was acquired in 1794. Located in the heart of the world's most famous white Grand Crus, this vineyard's combination of clay soils, slope, and Southeast exposition combine to produce white wines of balance, intensity, and longevity.

Harvest Note
The 2021 vintage was memorable for the extreme challenges it posed to growers. The defining event was a hard freeze in April which lasted several days, and the subsequent dramatic reduction in harvest volumes. Added to this were cool and wet summer conditions which required constant vigilance. The delayed harvest eventually yielded tiny volumes of pristine grapes which express a vibrant and energetic purity.
Tasting Note
This white is full-bodied, opulent and complex with fruit and soil elements foremost when young, but easily capable of aging for many years at which distinct almond, hazelnut, toffee and butterscotch notes emerge.
Food Pairing
With maturity this is capable of matching the most refined and subtle cuisine. Particularly ideal with shellfish yet equally perfect with chicken in lemon-butter or ripe cheeses and almonds.

About the Grape

Chardonnay
Though it has a distinctive profile, Chardonnay reflects other factors such as soil composition and vinification technique. Chardonnay is a reliable, hardy and prolific vine whose only real vulnerabilities are frost and uneven development of fruit.
