Morgeot is the largest and best known premier cru in Chassagne-Montrachet. Within Morgeot Jadot owns a 1 acre parcel in the lieu-dit of Abbaye, with a prime mid-slope position and a mix of stone and clay soils.

Harvest Note
The 2021 vintage was memorable for the extreme challenges it posed to growers. The defining event was a hard freeze in April which lasted several days, and the subsequent dramatic reduction in harvest volumes. Added to this were cool and wet summer conditions which required constant vigilance. The delayed harvest eventually yielded tiny volumes of pristine grapes which express a vibrant and energetic purity.
Tasting Note
Fleshy and opulent, this white presents aromas of peach, green almond, and candied lemon. The texture is broad and expansive yet with a subtle acidity keeping focus and length.
Food Pairing
Pairs well with grilled sea bass, poached lobster, or chicken in sauce.

About the Grape

Chardonnay
Though it has a distinctive profile, Chardonnay reflects other factors such as soil composition and vinification technique. Chardonnay is a reliable, hardy and prolific vine whose only real vulnerabilities are frost and uneven development of fruit.
