The vineyards producing the Montes Classic Series Chardonnay are located in three Central Valley regions: Colchagua, Curicó, and Maule. Each site contributes distinct characteristics to the final wine. All vines are vertically shoot-positioned and drip-irrigated, with yields limited to no more than 11,500 kg per hectare. This careful management ensures high-quality, healthy grapes with even ripening at harvest.

Harvest Note
In Chile’s Central Valley, the 2024 vintage for white wines was shaped by a cool, wet spring and an unusually slow, uneven growing season due to El Niño. Budbreak was delayed, and flowering faced some challenges from damp conditions, leading to reduced yields. Ripening progressed slowly with cooler-than-average temperatures throughout summer. Harvest was delayed into April. Overall, the vintage offers white wines with freshness and finesse, reflecting the cooler, slower ripening conditions.
Tasting Note
Medium gold with green hues, this wine reveals intense tropical fruit aromas complemented by sweet citrus notes. Subtle hints of toasted nuts, nougat, and vanilla reflect its barrel aging. Fresh and vibrant on the palate, it delivers medium body and a long, lively finish.

About the Grape

Chardonnay
Though it has a distinctive profile, Chardonnay reflects other factors such as soil composition and vinification technique. Chardonnay is a reliable, hardy and prolific vine whose only real vulnerabilities are frost and uneven development of fruit.
