Blanchot is a small and steep site of 13 hectares on a contiguous slope facing due East. The name dates to the 15th century if not earlier with reference to the white limestone-clay subsoil. The wine is carefully matured in large oak barrels to preserve the powerful structure.

Harvest Note
Winter and early Spring were unusually warm and dry however March brought much-needed rainfall which led to homogenous flowering in May. Stormy weather in June was followed by mild late summer, and an unusual September heat wave. Harvest was finished on September 16th, and by picking only in the cool morning hours freshness was preserved.
Tasting Note
This is a full bodied and powerful, complex white wine which balances freshness and vigor with a deep richness. Characterized by intense stony aromas as well as lime zest and honey, these wines are often best with several years of aging and will easily last for 10 - 15 years in the cellar.
