Il Lussurioso gets its name from the long lasting, luxurious, finish it has on the palate. This Amarone is made from 100% estate fruit, which comes from Buglioni's Vignieto San Pietro in Valpolicella Classico. The vineyard, Sant'Ambrogio is located at an altitude of about 495ft and consists of dark, clayey soils with a high content of gravel. Grapes are manually harvested towards mid-September and are dried until January using the appassimento process. The wine is certified organic.

Harvest Note
The 2019 harvest consisted of a mild winter, with only a few nights of extremely low temperatures and several days with moderate temperatures in December and January. There was little rainfall until May, where weather was wet with low temperatures. Summer arrived with cool temperatures allowing the vines to grow healthily until harvest. Grapes were manually harvested in selected bunches around mid-September.
Tasting Note
Intense ruby red color. Scents of cherry, black cherry, and white pepper, with mineral notes. Soft, fresh, and elegant with a long lasting finish.
Food Pairing
Intensely flavored cheeses, marbled red meat, barbecued hanger and spider steak. Delicious with great crudité: beef tartare or scampi, with just a drizzle of oil.
