Chris Louton joined St. Francis Vineyards & Winery in California’s Sonoma County in 2013 after nearly seven years as part of the winemaking team at Napa’s Beringer Vineyards.
At Beringer, he focused on the luxury tier of wines and helped craft award winning Cabernet Sauvignons and other Bordeaux varietals. While there, he became a fan of Cabernet Sauvignon from the terroirs of Diamond Mountain, Knights Valley and Alexander Valley. “The wines from Sonoma express themselves differently than the wines from Napa,” he explains in his bio on the St. Francis website. “They have their own unique brightness and great intensity.
