How Résonance Wines Brings Burgundian Soul to Oregon’s Willamette Valley

November 12, 2025

When Burgundy powerhouse Maison Louis Jadot made the bold move to plant roots in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, many in the wine world raised an eyebrow — and then quickly raised a glass. A decade later, Résonance Wines has become a striking example of how Burgundian technique and Willamette terroir can create something both familiar and thrillingly new.

The vision for Résonance isn’t about replicating Burgundy in Oregon, but rather about using Burgundian know-how to unlock the full expression of a remarkable New World terroir. The latitude and cool climate echo Burgundy, but the Oregon landscape brings an energy all its own. That landscape is central to Oregon’s growing reputation as one of the most exciting wine regions in the world. The Willamette Valley, which stretches roughly 150 miles south from Portland, is home to more than 700 wineries and a diverse patchwork of sub-AVAs — including Yamhill-Carlton, Dundee Hills, and Eola-Amity Hills — each with its own microclimate and soil story. Its long, cool growing season allows Pinot Noir to ripen slowly, preserving acidity and nuance, while the region’s volcanic and marine sedimentary soils lend the wines their trademark depth and minerality.
