Delta Air Lines is refreshing the wine list aboard its most premium cabins, with more than a dozen new selections taking flight this fall. The Atlanta-based carrier says it evaluated approximately 1,600 wines before selecting 13 from 11 wineries. The collection emphasizes California producers, particularly those from Napa and Sonoma, while also incorporating wines from France, Spain, and New Zealand.
The most immediately noticeable change may be the expansion of Taittinger Champagne. Delta currently serves Taittinger in international Delta One, but beginning October 1, it will also be available on domestic Delta One flights. The Champagne is also offered complimentary inside Delta One Lounges. That gives Delta a consistent and recognizable Champagne across its most premium experiences. Taittinger is hardly the rarest or most expensive Champagne in the world, but it is a respected producer and represents a tangible improvement over the anonymous sparkling wines that too often appear in U.S. premium cabins.
