Maria Cristina De Simone Avallone, born in 1994, is the winemaker at Villa Matilde Avallone, a historic winery in Campania founded by her grandfather Francesco Paolo Avallone.
After graduating in Viticulture and Oenology from the University of Naples Federico II, she gained experience both within the family estate and at Cotarella wineries in Umbria.
Since 2023, she has been in charge of production, working alongside Riccardo Cotarella and Pierpaolo Chiasso. She has a strong focus on white wines and introduced amphora aging to highlight the character of Falanghina. Her approach brings together tradition, innovation, and sustainability.
She loves nature and animals and dreams of creating a recovery center for abused dogs.
