- Shades is sourced from the Mosel region, which is the oldest and most prestigious wine region in Germany, known for producing some of the worlds’ most famous wines.
- A delicately sweet, fruity nose and crisp citrus finish make Shades a perfect complement to a wide variety of dishes, including spicy and ethnic foods.
- The grapes are predominately grown in steep vineyards on the hills surrounding the Mosel River. These steep vineyards have soils that are comprised primarily of slate, which give wine a distinct mineral note, characteristic of the region.
Shades is an affordable luxury for everyday celebrations, crafted from Riesling and Pinot Noir grapes sourced from Germany’s über-prestigious Mosel region. The wines from this region are generally lighter in alcohol and easy to drink, fresh, fruity and lightly sweet. The growing season in the Mosel is long. Harvest generally takes place in late fall, ensuring the grapes have a long time to reach optimal ripeness. After harvest, the Riesling and Pinot Noir grapes are pressed and fermented slowly in temperature controlled tanks, which preserves the delicate fruit. Following fermentation the wines are kept in stainless steel tanks and bottled right away; they are ready to drink when young. Before opening Shades, please chill 49-55° to ensure optimal enjoyment.
