Domaine de Roure is a vineyard purchased by Paul Jaboulet Aîné from the Roure family in 1996. It is one of the oldest estates in the appellation. Located in the commune of Gervans in the north of Tain l’Hermitage, this estate has a beautiful valley with incredible biodiversity. Jaboulet has founded its second nature reserve here.
The vineyard is on hillsides with granite-rich soil, steep slopes and a South-West exposure. The Syrah vines were planted in 1945 and are over 75 years old. The grapes are hand-harvested, hand sorted, and destemmed. The maceration lasts for three weeks with daily pump overs. The wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels (of which 20% are new). It has the potential to age up to 20 years.
