November 12, 2014

Craggy Range Winery has received the highly-regarded 2014 New World Winery Award from the Wine Enthusiast. Each year since 2000, the editors of Wine Enthusiast have honored individuals and companies worldwide, each of them representing varied mindsets, origins, generations and business approaches.

According to the Wine Enthusiast team, “our winners—past and present—are notable for their energy and groundbreaking vision, coupled with the courage to take risks and the skill to succeed”. And specific to Craggy Range, they added “started in 1997 by Australian Terry Peabody, New Zealand’s Craggy Range produces benchmark wines like its Gimblett Gravels blends and single-vineyard Pinot Noirs, defining New Zealand’s extensive terroir for new generations”. Bob DeRoose, President of Kobrand Corporation, importer of Craggy Range since its introduction in the US market in 2002 , commented: ”Craggy Range has been a very important partner to Kobrand and this recognition is the result of all the hard work of Terry and his team, bringing to the markets New Zealand wines at their best, from Sauvignon Blanc to acclaimed reds such as Sofia, a blend of the very best Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Malbec.”
