Clos Hauserer is located at the foot of the Hengst Grand Cru and was planted in 1973. Riesling grows here on a limestone substrate from the Oligocene period covered by a thick layer (1 to 1.5m) of calcareous marl. This deep soil warms up slowly, has an extraordinary water reserve, and allows the roots of the vines to dive deep. It is normal to find in the wines of this Clos a significant acidity whatever the vintage.
