This centerpiece 12.2 acre parcel came to Jadot with the 2017 acquisition of Domaine Prieur-Brunet. With the necessay vineyard revamp a section on nearly 2 acres was replanted to chardonnay. The site is mid-slope facing southeast, with clay and marl soils over limestone.
This is a fascinating and promising new white. On the palate there is tension and energy, followed by ripe pear and roasted apple flavors, all of which are supported by a distinct saline earthy note which endures through the long finish. This is a fine example of new advances in the south Côte de Beaune where adventurous producers are bringing expertise to overlooked terroirs.
