This terroir lies on a slope to the North of the village near the Beaune border. While unmistakably Pommard in style there is an aspect of Beaune-like restraint and elegance. Soils are a mix of small stones and deep clay. Pinot Noir here is harvested manually and brought to the nearby winery for triage, destemming, and natural fermentation in passive oak vats. After alcoholic fermentation is complete the wine is racked into oak barrels for malolactic fermentation and extended aging. Approximately 16 months later the cuvee is reassembled for bottling.
