A rich red color, the 2021 Barbaresco Asili is lifted with mint aromas of medicinal herbs, dried cherries, anise, and spices. Medium-bodied, it has balanced intensity on the palate, with angular structure and good ripeness throughout. As it opens, it becomes more rosy and floral, and it’s zesty with notes of blood orange, saline, and dusty earth, as well as a lovely mineral texture through its rather long finish. I like this one more than I initially thought. Drink it over the next 10 years.
Pretty hazelnut and chocolate complexity to the ripe red and dark berry fruit. It’s rich and juicy with a medium body and a broad, ripe tannin frame. Deep and delicious.
Meaty and smoky undertones to this rich and full-bodied Moulin-a-Vent. Swathes of dark berry fruit, mocha and spice box are wrapped up in firm and chalky tannins. Long and powerful
Tavel is known for its dark and savory rosés, and this bottle delivers. It has juicy notes of cherries, berry jam, and citrus along with some savory hints of tomato leaf and herbs. It has refreshing acidity and offers a bit of a grip on the palate, making it the ideal rosé to enjoy with food by the beach.
A grilled pineapple aroma is this Chardonnay’s lip-smacking “hello.” Other aromas include a bit of saline and pine needles. The wine’s bright acidity helps create a crisp mouthfeel as well as livening up flavors of nectarines and toasted filberts. Try this wine with creamy Tuscan chicken pasta dish
