This is a very good and approachable, weeknight bottle of Malbec to have on hand. In the glass, it is a deep garnet color, with aromas of ripe cherries, black plum, tobacco leaf and violets. On the palate, it is medium plus bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is very smooth, balanced, bright and fresh with some complexity. There are flavors of ripe blackberry, black tea, black pepper, black plum, oak, and a bit of mocha. It closes with fine-grained tannins that are dry and long. Serve with a grilled flank steak with a chimichurri sauce.

The 2021 Malbec Reserva is a blend of grapes from the Uco Valley and Luján de Cuyo and was aged for 12 months in oak barrels. Purple in the glass. Offers ripe plum, blackberry and dark fruit notes with a hint of spice and a balsamic profile. Plush with a fairly smooth palate, good volume and an expansive flow. This is a potent, long-lasting wine with a fatty core. The 2021 is a Malbec in every sense of the word.

The 2021 Reserva Malbec is slightly fresher than the 2020 I tasted next to it, a nice representation of Malbec from Mendoza, mixing 50% from Valle de Uco and 50% from Luján de Cuyo that matured in used French barrels for one year for micro-oxygenation. This is a wine where they search for consistency, good ripeness, balance and elegance, integrated oak and fine tannins.

The 2020 Reserva Malbec shows the consistency of this bottling, one of the most important wines for Norton. Approximately 50% comes from Valle de Uco and 50% from Luján de Cuyo, and it matured in used barrels for one year. It has good ripeness, balance and elegance, integrated oak and very fine tannins.

A nicely juicy and fine-grained malbec with restrained sweet spices, blackberries, blueberries and a hint of graphite. Classic malbec characters with juicy fruit and firm, fine-grained tannins. 50% of the fruit comes from Uco (El Peral, Los Chacayes and Altamira) and 50% from Lujan de Cuyo. Drink now but can hold, too.
