Sourced from vines planted at an altitude of 350 to 380 meters in elevation, the 2023 Saint-Joseph Domaine de la Croix des Vignes reveals an introverted, brooding bouquet of dark berries, spices, licorice and tapenade. Medium- to full-bodied, dense and structured, it’s well-balanced, with good depth at the core, and framed by slightly woody tannins that lead to a spicy, dark finish. It matured with around 15% new oak.

The 2022 Saint-Joseph Domaine de la Croix des Vignes offers aromas of inky berries and bacon mingled with incense, smoke and toasty new oak. Medium to full-bodied, structured and refined, it’s long and tense with a fleshy core of fruit and structured tannins that pave the way for a saline, long finish.

Notes of pencil shavings, red and black cherry, cedar and a touch of earth introduce the 2022 Saint-Joseph La Croix des Vignes. Medium-bodied, round and refined, the 2022 boasts bright freshness and winds down with good length on the savory aftertaste.

Austere and flinty on the focused, medium-bodied palate. Some graphite, too. Expresses the special personality of this appellation extremely well, and the very long finish has been beautifully crafted.

Ruby-plum hued with a touch of lightening at the rim, the 2023 Saint Joseph La Croix Des Vignes was aged 12 months in 20% new French oak barrels. Ripe red and black berries, violets, gravelly earth, and spice define the aromatics, and it’s ripe, round, and supple on the palate. It has a charming, nicely textured mouthfeel, soft tannins, and a good finish that makes it approachable now. Drink 2026-2031.
