From vines averaging 49 years of age, the 2018 Pinot Gris Clos Windsbuhl opens with a deep, intense and concentrated, clearly limestone-driven and pure bouquet with concentrated ripe fruit aromas but also yeasty, nutty and phenolic notes. On the palate, this is a full-bodied, rich, refined and very elegant, balanced, stimulating saline and tightly structured Pinot Gris with fine, ripe tannins and stunning, vibrantly mineral acidity. The finish is long, intense and finely bitter, still textural and very long.
This wine is mostly savory on the nose, with freshly cut grass, dill and Dijon mustard promising something culinary and interesting. Flavors of lychee and pear syrup take over on first sip. This wine has great heft, and an invigorating sweep of acidity cleanses the palate on the finish.
In spite of its ripeness and floral sensuality this gewurz has a wonderful freshness, citrusy delicacy and dry elegance. Long silky and stony finish.
Deep and spicy with pronounced sandalwood notes. A generous gewurz that has modest acidity, but fine tannins that balance the richness very well. Long, bone-dry finish. From over 70-year-old vines. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold.
This is like a shower of pink rose petals! Generous and succulent, but with a light touch that helps it carry the hint of juicy sweetness. Very silky finish. From biodynamically grown grapes.
