The nose features meaty, savory aromas and ripe dark fruits, beautifully framed by high-quality new oak. On the palate, it is voluptuous and powerful, seamlessly leading to a saturated, staining finish with velvety, intense tannins.
This starts with a spicy nose that features hints of aniseed, cinnamon and cassis. It has depth and silky tannins. The wine’s balanced mouthfeel shows flavors of mulberry, plum, and oak spices and notes of Mediterranean herbs that end in a long finish.
The 2021 Syrah Folly is sourced from the steepest slopes of the Apalta Vineyard in the Colchagua Valley. Aged for up to 18 months in French oak barrels, 70% of which are new, this purple-hued wine delivers aromas of blackberry, black pepper, cedar and a subtle charcuterie note. Plush and indulgent, the juicy and well-balanced palate lingers with a lasting fruit tone. This is a concentrated Syrah with a bold and nuanced mouthfeel, thanks to the cold 2021 vintage
This Folly is floral despite the ultra-ripe fruit, with slightly less fruit sweetness than the 2021. Still very Folly in style, with a full body, voluptuousness and a pleasing finish. Tons of blackberries, dark chocolate, purple flowers, cherry liqueur and new leather.
Lots of sweet tobacco, dried meat, graphite and blackberry aromas follow through to a medium to full body, tight center palate and juicy fruit with solid and tight velvety tannins that are very long. Just a touch of wood at the end.
