The 2024 Savigny-lès-Beaune Vergelesses Blanc 1er Cru comes from vines that had mistakenly never been sprayed and yet still managed to produce decent yields. That’s terroir! It has a bright nose with lime and tangerine, just a hint of French patisserie. I appreciate its delineation and focus. The palate is smooth with gentle grip, fine weight, quite sapid in the mouth with appreciable density and cohesion on the finish. This is a Savigny with longevity in its sights. Very promising.
