Broad and fleshy, offering well-integrated flavors of plum, cherry, menthol and iron, plus a firm structure. Deftly balanced, with a long, fruit- and savory-infused aftertaste. Juicy and refreshing on the finish
Cherry cola flavors mingle with spices reminiscent of clove, nutmeg, and anise while cherry lollipop aromas lift from the glass. On the palate, a yin-yang interplay emerges, with savory notes balancing the upfront fruitiness of the wine as astringent tannins impart a bitter, pithy quality. The finish is accented by hints of orange and smoky notes, making this wine great with BBQ
The 2021 Barbaresco Reyna is a gorgeous entry-level offering from Michele Chiarlo. Fresh, vibrant and effusive, the 2021 has so much to offer. Sumptuous dark red/purplish fruit, rose petal, cedar, cinnamon, mint and blood orange are all nicely amplified. The 2021 shows all the textural depth that is such a signature here, but with an extra kick of freshness these wines don’t always possess. I hope the 2021 Reyna is a sign of things to come
A very floral style focused on roses with overt red cherries and balsamic. Slightly earthy. This has medium body and crisp acidity, showing good fruit definition supported by firm, dusty yet ripe tannins, still young at the moment. It will need time to soften.
This has a pretty nose of dried flowers, tea leaves, cocoa beans, nutmeg and wild berry fruit. It’s focused and precise with a tight tannin frame and a full body. Excellent balance.
