Fragrant with wild herb, sweet smoke and mocha notes, this broad and creamy red layers flavors of baked black cherry and black plum, olive tapenade, and roasted vanilla, with supple tannins. Lightly spiced and lingering through the floral finish.

The nose is savory, herbaceous, earthy and spicy all at once, with aromas of macerated blackberries, mulberries and figs. Ripe black plums and more figs tumble across the palate, alongside salted dark chocolate and licorice, all beneath a sprinkle of cinnamon and cloves. I hate to give a seasonally specific note, but this wine does feel like Christmas.

The nose is dense and rich with dark fruit and wild herbs, bringing the lush decadence of a hanging garden with damp soil and heady blossoms. The palate contrasts with a lifted, spirited feel, as the tart skin of the fruit and the flinty edge of top soil is buoyed by salinity and citrus. Polished tannins round out the finish.

A very cool wine that mixes the savory character of Sicily with aromas of caper bush, anchovies, tar, black olives and black pepper. Medium-bodied and refreshing, with chalky yet crunchy tannins. Drink now.
