A beautiful sense of minerality as well as black raspberries, spring flowers, violets, and hints of chocolate covered orange emerge from the 2022 Saint Joseph La Croix Des Vignes, a balanced, silky, elegant Saint Joseph that has beautiful finesse and elegance. It has ample granite-like minerality and character and should benefit from just a few years of bottle age.

Coming from two parcels in the southern part of the appellation, the 2021 Saint Joseph La Croix Des Vignes has a Pinot Noir-like vibe in its pretty framboise and wild strawberry fruits as well as peppery, violet, and herbal nuances. It’s medium-bodied, elegant, and nicely balanced. Drink bottles over the coming decade.

Still youthful, but this already has an expressive stony personality plus a slew of wild herb and licorice aromas. For this appellation the tannins are surprisingly polished, the minerality building at the finish. A cuvee from two steep sites in this appellation on granite soils.
