Ripe black fruit, licorice and cedar tones introduce the refined 2022 Crozes-Hermitage Domaine de Thalabert. Medium-bodied, round and elegant, it bundles lively freshness with gentle resonance on the savory finish.
A wealth of black fruit, smoke, black pepper and raw meat aromas. At once bold, structured and elegantly balanced on the medium- to full-bodied palate, where the interplay of fleshiness and fine tannins is stunning. Very long, stony finish with notes of licorice and blackberries.
The 2020 Crozes Hermitage Domaine de Thalabert seems to have put on weight since last tasted from barrel, improving with its élevage. Faint herbal notions and a bit of crushed stone accent black cherries on the nose.
Leading off the 2022s, the 2022 Crozes-Hermitage Domaine De Thalabert is terrific, with up-front, ripe cassis, graphite, tobacco, and peppery, herbal notes to go with medium-bodied density and depth on the palate. I love its overall sense of balance and elegance, and it has good concentration as well as ripe tannins. It actually reminds me slightly of the 1990 (which is absolutely brilliant today).
The 2021 Crozes-Hermitage Domaine De Thalabert is pretty and elegant, with medium-bodied aromas and flavors of ripe black cherries, truffly earth, and peppery herbs. It’s nicely balanced, has juicy, integrated acidity, and outstanding length. It’s an undeniable success in the vintage.
