A balanced, medium- to full-bodied version, with chewy tannins framing flavors of dried cherry, cured tobacco, mineral and cocoa powder. Spiced finish.

This classicly styled Amarone opens with aromas of baked plums, star anise, clove, espresso and dried leaves. The lush fruit opens the palate but savory and earth-driven notes give the wine balance and depth as the rich tannins give the wine a push on the finish. Drink now–2040

Appealing aromas of black skinned berries, pipe tobacco and cocoa emerge from the glass. The concentrated palate offers blackberry jam, licorice and clove alongside fine grained tannins.

A dark, brooding red, leading with hints of tarry smoke and leather that then reveal macerated cherry, bitter chocolate and sweet tobacco. Firm and chewy, and though leaning more toward a savory, traditional style, this does so with aplomb. Decant for best expression.

The power but also vibrancy of the fruit on the nose is very impressive. Dark plums, incense, tar, dried meat and elderberry compote are out in full force. The soft fruit would be enough in itself, but its enveloped in meaty, chewy tannins that give this imposing structure and form. The finish is long and powerful and the hints of earth give a savory edge to this robust Amarone.
