Lots of plums, darker cherries, currants, tobacco, and graphite-like notes emerge from the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Suscol Springs, a gorgeously complex, medium to full-bodied, finesse-driven effort. A blend of 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% each of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, aged in 54% new oak, it has some background spicy wood notes, remarkable purity, and great tannins.
Blackberries and blackcurrants with some herbs, lemon and violets. Full-bodied with round tannins and a juicy finish. Beautiful fruit with savoriness and softness. Goes on for minutes.
Blended with 15% Merlot, this is a brooding and weighty wine, offering thick layers of coffee bean and toasted oak. Cedar, dried herb and baking spice add to the mix, complementing the rich black berry and cherry.
