A plush, forward style, with warmed cassis and plum sauce notes draped over mocha, sweet tobacco and singed vanilla accents.

Sourced from a site in southeastern Napa, Cakebread’s 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Suscol Springs adds gently herbal shadings to cherry and redcurrant fruit. Aged in 61% new French oak for 22 months, it’s medium- to full-bodied, supple and almost creamy in texture, with soft, powdery tannins on the finish, joined by tart berry flavors.

Ripe berries and bramble, tobacco and cedar move nose through finish where savory notes and cocoa emerge. Lengthy tannins and a silken mouthfeel complete this lush Cabernet Sauvignon.

Brooding aromas of blackcurrants, mulberries, mocha, graphite and baking spices. The palate is full-bodied with finely integrated tannins and bright acidity, giving flavors of blackberry compote, blood plums and black olives. Quite serious, with underlying freshness.

Deep purple-hued, the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Suscol Springs Vineyard offers a terrific perfume of ripe black fruits, graphite, scorched earth, and flowery incense, with a hint of orange blossom. It’s medium-bodied, concentrated, and balanced, with ripe, polished tannins, nicely integrated acidity, and outstanding length.
