Cakebread’s 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Suscol Springs offers up scents of cherries and raspberries, framed by oaky, cedary notes. It’s medium to full-bodied, seemingly a bit less concentrated and more supple than the winery’s other named Cabernets, but it still firms up nicely on the finish. Brooding aromas of blackcurrants, mulberries, mocha, graphite and baking spices. The palate is full-bodied with finely integrated tannins and bright acidity, giving flavors of blackberry compote, blood plums and black olives. Quite serious, with underlying freshness.

Ripe blackberries, blackcurrants, toasted walnuts, cedar, mocha and spices. Medium- to full-bodied, polished and sleek, with fine, textural tannins. Lengthy and linear. Really smooth and silky.
