A lightly fleshy, light- to medium-bodied white, with juicy acidity and a zesty underpinning enlivening well-knit flavors of honeyed apricot, mandarin orange peel, grated ginger and slate.

2022 Riesling Roche Granitique opens with a coolish and precise, slightly flinty and wonderfully aromatic picture-book nose for Riesling from granite terroirs. This medium to full-bodied Riesling is elegant and vibrantly fresh on the palate, provided with fine and savory acidity…

The 2024 Riesling Roche Granitique was chiefly sourced from the Grands Crus of Brand and Wineck Schlossberg, supplemented by Sommerberg. The nose combines a lovely note of wet walnut skin with citrus and red apple, a wonderful combo. The palate is lithe but bundled, strait-laced and wonderfully stony, full of verve and straight as an arrow, with the most delicious tart red apple juiciness at its heart. How wonderful. (Bone-dry)

A touch of flint blends deliciously with crunchy apple, almost like Cox Orange Pippin, full of the promise of juiciness and verve with a slight burst of smokiness. The palate delivers exactly that, with touches of crunchy green and red apple…

The 2022 Riesling Roche Granitique was harvested in the Brand Grand Cru. The nose is clear as a bell with a touch of smoke and a strafe of citrus, but essentially shy. The palate is clear, bright and shining, with a spectrum of plum, from greengage via Reine Claude to Mirabelle. This is fresh, wonderfully stony, zesty, streamlined and pervasive. It’s almost incisive, with just a touch of pepper on the finish and a lovely feel of grapefruit zest. (Bone-Dry)
