The tannins are quite insistent before the lovely finish.
A ripe and brooding syrah, showing good depth of blackberries, ripe dark cherries and violets, together with a refined, spicy edge and some savory, balsamic character. Concentrated and rich, but still well-drinkable. Full-bodied palate, saturated with dusty tannins that seamlessly knit the palate, rendering a broad but cohesive mouth-feel. Lots of hedonistic pleasures here, but not over the top.
Blackberries, blueberries, violets and dried herbs on the nose. Full body with round, chewy tannins. Juicy palate with a chalky texture and savory character. Meaty notes on the finish, together with tea leaves and dark fruit. Lively acidity and some structure through to the end.
Offers up blackberry jam, vanilla and smoked cigar box over a fleshy backdrop that adds the exotic touch one expects in a well-made Syrah. Taut and complex.
