The Villa Matilde Avallone 2024 Greco di Tufo Tenuta Pietrafusa Daltavilla is a tonic and fresh white wine with crisp aromas of unripe peach, quince and green apple. Subtle mineral aromas appear at the back and give the wine a hint of attractive saltiness to finish.
The nose is delicate, but doesn’t lack subtlety, as the freshness of citrus blossoms and grapefruit mingles with drier aromas of tea leaves and cumin. That balance continues on the palate, where green apples play with camomile, while accelerating acid recalls the citrus of the nose
The 2023 Greco di Tufo Tenuta Alta Villa slowly emerges from the glass with a sweetly scented yet nuanced bouquet of dried flowers, stone dust and freshly sliced pears. It’s soothingly round and enveloping with silken textures and masses of mineral-laced orchard fruits. Zesty green citrus enlivens the finish as the 2023 leaves a salty tinge to linger, finishing with medium length and crisply refreshing
