Bright and fluid, this sleek style exudes red fruit flavors of cherry, raspberry and strawberry. Firm, ending with a taut texture and shades of earth and spices.

The 2024 Beaune 1er Cru Aux Cras (Domaine Gagey) is a strong performer in the range once again, delivering aromas of plums mingled with spices and candied peel, followed by a medium- to full-bodied, plush and polished palate, concluding with a saline finish.

The 2024 Beaune Cras 1er Cru, which was one of the first vineyards Jadot picked this vintage, has a more sensual bouquet than the Grèves, mainly red fruit with orange blossom and rosehip scents that are well defined, almost Volnay-like in style. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, very pure red fruit, harmonious and poised. This is a tangible step-up from the Grèves and Les Theurons, long and tender on the finish. Recommended.

What a stunning example of the vintage in Beaune. This really shows what makes these wines stand out. Deep sour-cherry and summer-flower aromas and a wonderfully creamy texture on the mouth-filling, medium-bodied palate. I love what the very fine tannins do for this wine, right through the long seductive finish.

Deep blackberry and amarena-cherry nose, then a huge mouthful for a Beaune that really makes you sit up. However, the tannins have been expertly judged and the acidity is enough to lift the palate, the tannin structure making quite a statement at the bold and bright finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.
