The 2020 Terroir Selection Malbec blends grapes from their vineyards in different subzones of Mendoza. It fermented in small concrete vats and matured in French oak barrels for 12 months. It’s ripe and balanced with 14.5% alcohol and has very good grip, polished tannins and ripe primary flavors with the oak neatly integrated.
A juicy malbec with a smoky edge to the blue and purple fruit. Round and juicy on the palate with plenty of grippy tannins. Good mid-palate fluidity and juiciness.
A very juicy malbec with good depth on the nose. Some violet extracts to the intense black and blue fruit. Fresh and fine-grained on the medium- to full-bodied palate. Good mid-palate juiciness and fluidity. Drink or hold.
Crunchy raspberry flavors and a tea-leaf bitterness in the tannins make for a light expression of malbec from Luján de Cuyo’s high altitudes. Some darker flavors in the finish recall more classic examples of the variety, and show a promising foundation for further development.
