Plenty of crushed mulberry and blackberry aromas with hints of fresh herbs. Medium bodied with medium, round tannins and a delicious finish. Iron-like undertones. Shows a nice balance of light tannins and freshness, as in recent vintages. Drink and enjoy.
Aromas of black licorice, crushed plum and ground spice. Medium-to full-bodied with powdery yet firm tannins. Fresher and crunchier than past vintages. The red and black fruit on the palate is nicely articulated by steady acidity and some mineral notes. Best after 2025.
The 2018 Nero d’Avola Neré is a fruit-forward effort that draws you close with a display of sweet violets, crushed black berries and exotic spice. It’s soft with a noticeable inner sweetness, counterbalanced by tart woodland berries and a twang of peppery herbs. A concentration of primary fruits saturates the palate through the finale, providing a pleasantly tactile feel. All of that said, the Neré is, while balanced, all about immediate satisfaction.
A polished, refined nero d’avola with blackberries, black olives and blueberries. Hints of stones. Full-bodied with a nicely formed palate and a long, linear finish. A cooler style, compared with the often jammy rendition of this grape.
Expressive notes of ripe plum and cassis fruit, spice box and cured tobacco are well-knit with light, taut tannins in this juicy, medium-bodied red.
