Expressive and rich, this white features peach, lime blossom, citronella and hazelnut aromas and flavors. Vibrant acidity keeps everything well-delineated, while the finish fans out with fruit and oak spice details.

There are just two big barrels of the 2024 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot), a medium- to full-bodied, concentrated and chalky wine evocative of pear, toasted nuts and peach, framed by a deft touch of oak. Racy, compact and penetrating, this has turned out nicely.

The 2024 Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières 1er Cru was showing some reduction on the nose, though it is clear there is plenty of fruit behind it. The palate is well balanced with orange rind and nectarine on the entry, quite exotic for a Folatières, nicely composed however on the finish. This will need a couple of years once in bottle, but I cannot help thinking that it could have given more.

Aromas of white peaches, lemon confit, kaffir lime leaves and flint. The palate shows a great balance of power and freshness with striking acidity, a textural mouthfeel and a slightly saline, mouthwatering finish. Still very closed but with a little time in bottle, the class and touch of the vineyard will shine.

So much orange zest and orange blossom here, even a touch of blood orange! A very powerful and very fresh Puligny-Montrachet that embodies the special personality of this vintage in Burgundy. Just enough creaminess on the mid-palate from sur-lie maturation for this to harmonize, yet maintaining all the excitement of the crisp and very mineral finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.
