This wine evokes a perfect summer day by the ocean—crisp, fresh, and effortlessly bright. Aromas of fresh citrus and orchard fruit shine, with lemon verbena and white peach elegantly woven together by delicate threads of lemongrass, chamomile, and vanilla. Brilliant acidity cuts through its rich layers, extending into a refined hazelnut-saline finish. Beautiful now, with the depth to age gracefully through 2032+.

The 2024 Meursault Les Charmes 1er Cru has a very capable bouquet with yellow plum, hints of hazelnut and litchi, a light menthol note hanging out off-stage. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity. Not as complex or as mineral-driven as the best Charmes this vintage, though it has a linearity and focus that is commendable. I would just like to see more nerve on the finish but otherwise a competent Meursault-Charmes.

Tension, power, minerals and generous fruit on the nose with great balance and freshness. The palate has the classic Charmes richness, supported by energetic acidity and a textural, rounded mouthfeel. This shows the class of the vineyard. Enjoy now or leave for some years in the cellar—you will be rewarded either way.

All the nutty richness, the bold scale and creaminess we associate with Meursault from this 1er Cru site, but married to lovely apple-pear freshness that animates the generous body through the long, compact, yet very clean, mineral finish. From a 1.2-hectare parcel at the bottom of this site. Drink or hold.
