The 2024 Meursault Les Genevrières 1er Cru has a refined bouquet with orchard fruit, grilled almonds and touches of mint, all well defined although not as intense as its peers. The palate is well balanced with tangerine and grapefruit on the entry, slightly honeyed in texture (bizarrely, almost as if there was a bit of noble botrytis—Barnier remarked that it is the ripest of the Meursault) leading to a rich but satisfying finish that is akin to a Meursault-Charmes. Fascinating and it should age well in bottle.

Whiffs of Asian style tea and mineral reduction sit atop the naturally exotic aromas of mostly white fleshed fruit and acacia. The middle weight flavors possess a slightly finer texture on the suave and caressing flavors that terminate in a mildly tangy and bright finale that exhibits excellent persistence. Lovely.
