Shows fine depth, with a darker expression of fruit — black cherry, blackberry and black currant — backed by dense, refined tannins. A bit broader in profile, too, culminating in the long, sinewy finish, with mineral and spice elements.

The 2024 Beaune Boucherottes 1er Cru, which comes from more clayey soils, has a tight bouquet, quite backward but well defined, and I feel that it will open with requisite bottle age. You can feel the sense of energy. The palate is well balanced with quite firm tannins, good backbone, quite fresh but there is structure and weight suggesting that this will have more legs than Jadot’s other Beaune cuvées.
