The most structured white in the cellar this year is the 2024 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot), a taut and chiseled wine evocative of wet stones, crisp orchard fruit, white flowers and lime salt. Medium- to full-bodied, chiseled and racy, it’s built around tangy acids and chalky dry extract that asserts itself on the finish.

The 2024 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru has an expressive bouquet with nectarine, white peach, lime cordial and yellow flower scents. The palate is medium-bodied with a slightly honeyed texture. There is a keen line of acidity but it just misses the complexity of Jadot’s other Grand Crus on the finish. Give it a couple of years in bottle.

This concentrated, focused chardonnay is still tightly wound, but the stony minerality builds impressively, and the citrusy vitality gives it an impression of lightness in spite of the abundant power. Be patient until all of this can fully resolve, because the mineral drive in the finish promises great things to come.

What a sensual nose of Amalfi lemon, ripe mirabelle and apricot this Corton-Charlemagne has! Gigantic fruit and almost as much structure behind it, the fine tannins underlining all this beautifully. Mouthwateringly fresh acidity and a saline touch that really ignites this at the very long, brilliant finish. From the south side of the hill of Corton. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.
