A sleek, mineral-driven white, underlined by brisk acidity and flavors of apple, vanilla and bread dough.

Notes of crisp orchard fruit, flowers and toasted almonds introduce the 2024 Ladoix Le Clou d’Orge (Domaine Gagey), a medium-bodied, satiny and fine-boned white that’s bright and mineral. It’s being matured in foudre. This is always one of the insiders’ choices in the range.

The 2022 Ladoix Clos d’Orge has a clean, quite crisp nose of mainly yellow fruit with a touch of orange blossom. The palate is well-balanced with a fine thread of acidity. It is not a complex Ladoix, but I admire the tension and a sense of refinement on the finish. Well-crafted
