The 2024 Chambertin Grand Cru has an almost pastille-like purity on the nose with red cherries and crushed strawberry scents, although it does not boast the amplitude and complexity of the Clos-de-Bèze (as usual). The palate is medium-bodied with quite plush and rounded tannins. All curves ‘n no edges, it sashays along nicely, allowing the Clos-de-Bèze and indeed the Clos Saint-Jacques to have the appellation’s gold and silver medals.
