This Beaune negociant that also owns Château des Jacques produces a regular, red-fruit-flavored Beaujolais Villages. It is an easy wine, made to enjoy young with its light texture and fruitiness.
Saturated violet. Lively and focused on the nose, displaying fresh red and blue fruit scents sharpened by a peppery nuance. Juicy and lithe on the palate, offering tangy red currant and bitter cherry flavors; an earthy licorice note builds on the back half. Subtly gripping tannins firm a nicely persistent finish that echoes the peppery quality.
Warm purple plum flavors carry through this supple, summertime red. It’s a simple, meaty gamay.
