This wine has a nose of black cherry, black olive, strawberry and rosehip. The midpalate echoes the nose with bright acidity, damp earth and chalk dust. The cool-vintage Moulin-à-Vent is angular, concentrated and shows depth. Additional age in bottle would tame youthful tannins.
This has a sophisticated array of nutmeg, burdock, cassis and cocoa nib aromas. It’s medium-bodied and full of flavor, with firm and polished tannins framing the spicy dark fruit.
This wine is full, ripe and structured, with tannins still playing an important part. It is dense and powerful, with layers of black fruits and texture.
Complex nose of autumn bonfires, wet earth and wild blackberries. On the medium-bodied palate the restrained tannins, mineral freshness, berry and sour cherry fruit fit together very neatly. Plenty of red beet complexity at the long, moderately dry and savory finish.
A highlight of this year’s range is the 2020 Moulin-à-Vent Clos des Thorins, a full-bodied, layered and vibrant wine of notable completeness and harmony. Delivering attractive aromas of cherries, mulberries, rose petals, sweet spices, licorice and soil, it’s refined and penetrating, concluding with a saline finish. This is a seamless, elegant wine, despite the warmth and power of the vintage, and it will be worth following over several decades.
