The 2020 Brunello di Montalcino is dark and brooding, mixing ashen stones and grilled herbs with dried black cherries and ground cloves. It washes across the palate with soft, generous, energetic textures, with masses of ripe red and black fruits that slowly drench the senses.

A graceful and slightly minty wine with vibrant aromas of red fruit, raspberries, cherries, flowers and spices. Medium-bodied, it shows firm, velvety tannins and a chalky finish. Ripe, chewy aftertaste. Drink now.

This offers red cherries, wild berries and spices on the nose, together with hints of tobacco leaves and crushed rocks. Medium- to full-bodied with compact, lightly chewy tannins and a vibrant line of acidity. Polished and structured with a tight yet persistent mineral finish. Try after 2028.

Lots of dark-fruit notes of brambles and blueberries, followed by dried fennel, vanilla bean and sandalwood. Medium-bodied with firm tannins and savory herb aftertaste. Back in form with this vintage.

Pouring a youthful red hue, the 2021 Brunello Di Montalcino is lush and smoky on the nose, with notes of menthol, black raspberries, sappy herbs, and crushed flowers. The palate is medium to full-bodied and ripe, with fleshy texture, ripe tannins, and good length, while its acidity keeps it light on its feet. It has an open-knit, approachable feel already, yet it should also drink well for another decade.
