Rich and polished, featuring cherry, strawberry, earth, sanguine and tobacco flavors underscored by a wave of impenetrable tannins. Nonetheless, this red is not overly astringent, and there’s a lasting impression of ripe fruit. Just needs time.

A spicy version, whose black pepper and Szechuan peppercorn notes highlight the core cherry and strawberry flavors. Underbrush and iron accents also enter the mix, while this stays balanced and long as the tannins leave their grip on the finish

The 2021 Brunello di Montalcino leans into the riper and sweeter side of the vintage, delivering notable power driven in part by its elevated 15.5% alcohol. Plush fruit concentration and a sense of softness define the palate, which finishes with medium- to full-bodied weight and an immediately accessible profile. Produced in a sizable quantity of 120,000 bottles, this Brunello reflects the estate’s broad-appeal style in a warm and generous growing season.

This Brunello boasts an open-knit style with textured tannins and lots of dark fruit at its core. With an ample 120,000 bottles made, the Tenute Silvio Nardi 2020 Brunello di Montalcino is a medium to full-bodied Sangiovese with a combination of dried blackberry flavors and sweetly toasted oak.

Pouring a red/garnet hue, the 2021 Brunello Di Montalcino opens with inward, layered aromas of leather, preserved red cherries, baking spice, violets, balsamic, and walnut. The palate is medium to full-bodied and seamless, with generous fruit purity, fleshy tannins, refreshing acidity, and a great finish that keeps it moving. It’s a lovely wine right out of the gate and should continue to improve over the next several years.
