Released with additional bottle age, the Michele Chiarlo 2020 Nizza Riserva La Court shows a soft side that is shaped by hot-vintage fruit and extra ripeness. There is a lot of intense blackberry in this fully loaded Barbera. The wine is layered with spice, leather and sweet tobacco. Syrupy crème de cassis appears on the close.

The 2019 Nizza Riserva LaCourt from 45-year-old vines, saturates the palate with inky dark fruit, leather, smoke, licorice, tobacco, mocha and chocolate. La Court is fermented in oak uprights then aged in a combination of cask and smaller French oak barrels.
