Muddled plum, earth and leafy underbrush flavors hold court in this solidly built red, which is firm, with the concentrated flavors echoing on the finish.

From a selection of vineyards throughout Asti, Le Orme is refined in stainless steel and ages for at least 16 months. The bright, cheerful cherry nose hints at cedar forest and allspice. It’s soft on the entry with brisk acidity giving backbone to airy fruit. Ready to drink and easy to like.

Ruby-purple. Shows a fruity, vibrant bouquet of huckleberry and plum with subtle herbal scents. There’s a lively interplay between fruit and acidity on a balanced palate with fine grained tannins that lend just enough spine on a lingering finish.

The Michele Chiarlo 2017 Barbera d'Asti le Orme (packaged in a screw cap bottle) is a light and informal expression to order at the local trattoria or pizzeria. The wine is tight and lean, with a pretty bouquet of wild cherry, dried blackberry and sweet almond. The wine is mild in terms of extraction and subdued in terms of the grape's naturally high acidity. These qualities make it so food friendly.

Deep ruby color, rich plum and vanilla nose; smooth, tangy and crisp with juicy cherry fruit; long and lively.
